Patricia Leake: “Parkside Lending was selected by my loan broker for refinance of my mortgage for a lower interest rate. I got a good interest rate, but WHAT A NIGHTMARE!! Somehow, when they took over my loan, they used the mailing address which is different from my legal address, assigned many years before mail was delivered. As a consequence, they would NOT ACCEPT my homeowners insurance, which was issued correctly for the property using the legal address.
I tried and tried to get someone to fix this on the phone, and documented in writing to 3 different offices that the 2 addresses were the same property, but Parkside just kept sending letters threatening to charge me for alternative insurance.
AND THEN THEY DID! I got an email stating that a new insurance policy for $922 had been charged to my account!! Impossible to get through to a supervisor and nobody was able to help me, or seemed to want to! In the end, I am now refinancing the loan with another lender. If you value customer service, AVOID PARKSIDE LENDING!!!”
Julie Halpin: “We refinanced using a broker in Nov 2020. Parkside Lending is who we ended up with for our loan servicer. From Day 1, working with them has been frustrating and stressful. All I wanted to do was give my money each month when it was due.
They would not take payments electronically unless I set up for them to take money out when they wanted (instead of me sending money when I wanted). While I don’t have a problem giving the money when due, I want to send more than what is due each month to chip away at that principal.
Anyway, because of this, my bank would mail them a check that they would need to process. I set it up to send them payment a week before it was due so it would be received on the due date (weeks before the grace period ended). They would regularly take their time in processing and applying my payment.
Once my payment was cashed and the money applied then unapplied and it took almost a month before my account was corrected. Every time that I have contacted customer service, I have been greeted with friendly sounding voices that cannot provide any information to resolve my issue.
I have received harassing phone calls “reminding” me of my payment due when it has already been sent (before the due date mind you – they just hadn’t applied it yet). Most recently, they sold my loan. I found out a week after the fact from the new loan servicer.
Three weeks later my monthly payment which is over $2500 and was sent a week before the due date so it would be received in time has not been cashed and has not been transferred to the new lender. I will now have to place a “stop” on that check and cross my fingers someone doesn’t try to cash it (and yes, I did request that it not be cashed and instead returned to me).
Cross your fingers for me that they do what they said they would because I have little confidence in this company. Oh, and after reading another review, please also cross your fingers that they don’t report to the credit bureaus that I’m not paying them after they sold the loan! If you have a choice, I would recommend going elsewhere.”
